The weekly edit will be dedicated to my weekly round-up of fashion favorites, lifestyle inspo and musings about life. I hope this is a post that you will enjoy reading each week. I promise to keep things interesting. Okay, lets get into it!

The Style File:
This week, I conquered my fear of wearing hats and posting try-on videos. Talk about a double-win. Ha! And I just have to say, if you’re afraid to be seen on social media because people are “judgey” and everyone will make fun of you: it’s just not true. Wear the hat. Post the video. I promise people are more worried about themselves.
How to Style a Bucket Hat:
The bucket hat trend is in and I’m totally okay with it! This Alice and Olivia hat is reversible and oh, so cute! One side is pure white and the other is black with the sweetest little daisy print. I styled it with this super versatile and affordable H&M sleeveless tank dress. (under $13) Wearing my favorite summer sandals from Target. Also, super affordable at only $10 a pair. If you give a girl a tri-pod…
I was sitting in my bedroom after a trip to the mailbox and my tri-pod was propped in it’s usual corner of my room. I had just gotten a new dress from Target.com and thought, “I never do try-on videos. I can’t be candid. ” Negative self-talk is a battle for me. I talk about that more in this post.
But, I also had a competing thought, “I can’t be the only person who is tired of polished edits and perfect bodies.” So, I hit record and played around a bit. Turns out, it was fun and many of you loved my dress!

Going Viral: Is that really the end goal?
This week, my July intentions reel got a lot of views on Instagram. I’ve had reels and posts “blow up” before and I can honestly say, nothing changed. Absolutely nothing. In fact, I am sick of playing the rating game with the almighty algorithm.
Don’t get me wrong, I understand wanting to reach people with your message and I know there are many who rely on social media to run their business. We want to connect with people. I just think if the point is connection, then even just one person being impacted by my post will be good enough for me. What are your thoughts?
To YouTube or Not to YouTube, That is the Question…
I’ve experimented with many forms of media and the idea of creating lifestyle vlogs has always been a dream of mine. I do actually have a YouTube Channel; with one video of me doing a postpartum workout. Catch that here.
As for posting consistently, I worry about when/how I’m going to film & learning how to edit. Then, there’s that one empowering thought, (*insert sarcasm) if my videos would even be worth watching… I know, but it’s a legitimate fear of mine. Can you relate?
I think the ability to document my life through video is really intriguing and I’m hoping to give it a go. Drop comments of encouragement or subscribe to my channel and I may surprise you (and myself) with a video soon!
Well, that’s my edit for this week. I hope you enjoyed. Message/comment with questions about links or any of the stuff I shared. Have a great week!
